Beth Shalom Welcomes You

Thank you for your interest in Congregation Beth Shalom. We hope you find Beth Shalom a warm and welcoming community, where we celebrate Jewish life celebrated and members feel at home.

 

As the largest Conservative congregation in Kansas City, Beth Shalom proudly provides dynamic and diverse offerings to meet the needs of our multi-generational congregation.  We are confident you will find the right mix of congregants, staff and activities to meet your social, spiritual, cultural and educational needs.

 

We encourage you and your family to attend services, programs and other activities at Beth Shalom to get to know the congregation, its staff and our congregants. We also would be delighted to meet with you and answer your questions about our community.

 

As a member of Beth Shalom, your family will benefit from: 

  • ServicesWe provide a variety of service options to meet the needs of all congregants. Join us each weekday for our morning or evening minyan.  On Shabbat, choose between our sanctuary minyan, library minyan, or a variety of other options on select Shabbatot, including our Tefillah 2000, Shabbat morning Young Family Service and Friday night Shabbat LaMishpachah Service.
  • The Rose Family Early Childhood Education Center.  Our preschool offers a warm, loving and accepting learning environment for children to grow and flourish.
  • Polsky Religious School.  Our religious school offers children and their families an educational environment that fosters a life-long love of Jewish learning, strong Jewish identity and spiritual growth.
  • KCUSY.  Our high school youth group and its feeder programs provide students the opportunity to take on leadership roles, engage in social action projects, socialize with other Jewish youth, participate in study and religious activities and travel to regional events and Israel.
  • Sisterhood.  Our active Sisterhood holds regular social, social action, learning and fundraising events for women of all ages. Sisterhood operates our synagogue gift shop – a wonderful source for all of your Judaica needs.
  • Men’s Club.  Men’s Club offers social and educational programming for adult men.
  • Adult Education.  A variety of live and web-based educational lectures, seminars and interactive learning programs highlight this important tenet in our congregational offerings.
  • Social Action.  Throughout the year, you'll find a rich spread of social action programs and initiatives. From food and clothing drives, to regular volunteer opportunities throughout the community, meaningful experiences abound.

Connection Membership

Are you a single adult between the ages of 21 and 30?  You may be eligible for membership at both the JCC and Congregation Beth Shalom for just $300 per year. The Connection Program allows you access to the JCC’s facilities and programming and Beth Shalom's full slate of social action, religious, educational and social programs.
