Polsky Religious School

Our Mission:

The Polsky Religious School of Conservative Judaism will create an inclusive religious school environment for children and their families that fosters a life-long love of Jewish learning, Jewish identity, and spiritual growth in accordance with the philosophy and standards of the Conservative Movement.

Our Vision:

Families who are committed to the study of Torah, worship, and performing mitzvot within a caring community.

Our Values:

The Polsky Religious School of Conservative Judaism demonstrates values of "Al sh'loshah d'varim haolam omed: al haTorah; al haAvodah;  v'al G'milut Hasadim." "The world is founded on three things: on study; on worship; and on acts of loving kindness." Pirket Avot--Ethics of the Fathers, 1:2.

Curriculum Design and Philosophy

The Polsky Religious School of Conservative Judaism is committed to ensuring that the curriculum for all grades is developmentally and educationally appropriate. The curriculum strives for interactive learning in the areas of Jewish ethics, traditions, and culture.

Instructional materials rely upon current theory and practices in education to create multiple learning tasks for all students.  The variety and quality of learning tasks are continuously improved and updated by the teachers who attend several staff development workshops each year.

Teachers use a number of texts, resource books and original source materials along with teacher-made learning and teaching materials.   The curriculum outlines for the grade levels, provided in the 5763 handbook,  provide detail for the teachers's practical use and also provide the students and parents information about the comprehensive and varied education offered by our school.

Our goal is for every student in our school to receive the very best Jewish education possible.
